lvl cap
im not exactly new to the game but is the lvl cap really only lvl 20?? or is it higher??

Why have it any higher? Oh look, I'm level 100 instead of lvl 20, with monsters scaled to be difficult at my level. Its the same thing with level 20, but it doesn't take a month to get to the max level.

Guild Wars by and large trys to provide for a level playing field, be that with equipment, skills, or even old fashioned game balance. If you want to try for the 'I am mighter than thou' stances that some other games might use unrestricted levels to represent, then I'd suggest looking to titles, and use high end (read: fancy looking) equipment to supplement them. If you just want a benchmark of which character has seen more, then you can still use good old fashioned experience. You stop gaining levels, but you keep gaining experience (34 mil on my para, and still counting...)
